Board Meeting – December 3 at 6:30

 

Calendar Check!!!

 

November 25 – end of the trimester and ½ day. Children are released at 11:30.

 

November 26 – 28 Happy Thanksgiving – No school!

 

December 5 – Report cards will be sent home in the daily folders!

 

December 17 6:30 – school holiday program

 

After school programs!!

 

We would like to welcome Mrs. Mattot to our school family. Mrs. Mattot is a wonderful addition to our after-school program. She is a certified elementary school teacher and is doing great things with our kids….from games to cooking to reading! Please let us know if you are interested in signing your children up for this program. Daily and hourly rates are available. Hours are from 2:30 to 6:00.

 

Mr. Perras is going to run a basketball clinic on Thursdays after school! The clinic will be from 2:30 to 3:30 and is open to K – 6 students. It will start in December. Please send in a note if you are interested.

 

Computer class!! Mr. Darby from Kevco will be starting an after-school computer class! There is still room in our computer class! Please let us know if you would be interested!

 

 

 

 

 

We will be taking student group pictures on December 2 at 9:00. This will be for the student council, after-school art, karate, etc. The pictures will be available on our website for download soon!

6th Grade class trip!!! The 6th graders will be heading to Boston in May. For a fundraiser they will be selling 50-50 raffle tickets at the holiday concert. Also, they will be selling Little Caesars pizza kits in the coming months. Please support our kids!

 

 

 

NHSEA News! We’d like to say thank you to those who helped make our 2nd annual wreath fund-raiser a success. We are looking for volunteers to help decorate the wreaths on

SUNDAY, November 23 (date change) at 10:30am here in the gymnasium. Lunch will be provided. For more information please contact Mrs. Bennink or Danielle Kinney.

 

The children/ families that you bought them from will deliver wreaths.

 

Grand Isle County Snowmobile Riders Safety Course – The Alburgh SnoSpringers Snowmobile Club is sponsoring a Riders safety course. Anyone born after July, 1983 or who is 12 years of age and older, must complete and pass a 6-hour safety course in order to drive their own snowmobile. The course will be held Saturday, December 6 8:30 to 3:00 a the Fish Hatchery in Grand Isle. The class is limited and your must pre-register by calling one of the club officers, Darlene Tourville (so. Hero) 343-5960, Joe Cicia (Alburgh) 796-3132 or Dave and Rachel Mc Fadden (Alburgh) 796-3346.

 

 

Also any changes in children’s schedules for pick-up or drop off should include notification of the school office.

Happy Halloween!!!

 

 

Board Meeting – next board meeting will be November 5 at 6:30.

October 31 – Halloween – 1:00 to 2:00 costume parade and party

 

November 3 – Presentation by Voices against Violence

 

November 5 – Field trip 3-6 Flynn and school board

 

November 12 – 7:00 NHSEA meeting

 

November 18 – Mr. Valenta

 

November 25 – end of the trimester

After school Art class will not be held on November 4 due to voting!

 

Picture retakes will be scheduled on an “as needed” basis. If you are not happy with your student’s photos please send them back to school and we will contact the photographers.

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

Future information – we are working with Laurie’s House and Voices against Violence to create a safe kids presentation in November. This presentation will be age appropriate and presented to individual grade levels. If you would like more information about this please call the office. I will include more information, as the date gets closer. 

 

 

NHSEA update –

If you would still like to order a wreath, please call the school or Danielle Kinney!

 

Please sell lots of wreaths for our fundraiser. However, if you would rather not sell and would like to give a donation, we would appreciate that too! Thanks! Your PTO

 

Our clothing closet is bare!!! If you have some extra pants, sweatshirts or shoes for children ages K to 4th grade we could use them at school. Please send them to school with a note so we can thank you!
