We are the Shire Town of Grand Isle in Grand Isle County. North Hero was chartered October 27, 1779
It is truly one of the jewels in Vermont's crown located in the northwestern corner of the state. It is the most northern island of the beautiful Champlain Islands.
Come, step into another world!
Enjoy a scenic drive up Route 2 through the islands...you will know when you have arrived in our quaint town, just over the drawbridge.
Stop for lunch at our eateries offering exquisite dining or a sandwich at the cafe, peruse the antique shops or just sit by the water and have an ice cream while you watch the most beautiful sunsets over the New York Adirondack Mountains on the West Shore. Enjoy a cup of java while taking in the breathtaking sunrises of the East Shore over the Green Mountains from the center of town.
